About Still Here

Peace of mind, one check-in at a time.

Still Here was born from a simple question: who checks on the people who live alone?

Living alone does not by itself establish a health or safety risk. Still Here publishes practical guides for people who want to agree a check-in routine with someone they trust, while preserving independence and privacy.

Our purpose is to make those conversations easier. An earlier version of this page used unsupported figures and implied that this service reliably closes a rescue-time gap. We have removed those claims. A check-in cannot guarantee discovery of an accident or a timely response.

What We Do

Our public planning guides are available without a subscription. The email service implementation includes account access links, check-in responses, settings and contact invitations, but operational verification is incomplete. Do not rely on its scheduling or escalation as a safety system. Read the FAQ for the current limitations.

No app to open. No password to remember. No complicated dashboard. Just a question: "Are you okay?" —and a button to answer it.

What We Are Not

Still Here is a convenience and peace-of-mind service. We are not a replacement for 911, medical alert systems, or professional caregiving. Think of us as a digital neighbor who checks in —not an ambulance.

Our Principles

Share only what is necessary. Discuss consent before adding a contact and avoid sending medical details or access tokens in ordinary support emails. Providers process service information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Clear expectations. A response records that a link was used; it is not proof of wellbeing. Agree what a missed message means and what someone has actually volunteered to do.

Practical boundaries. The public guides are written for adults. Personal circumstances, accessibility needs and professional care instructions take precedence over a general checklist.

How We Create Our Resources

Our public guides are practical educational resources for people planning safer independent living. We focus on specific questions such as choosing emergency contacts, creating a check-in routine, and discussing support with family. Articles are written in plain language, updated when product behavior changes, and linked to related resources so readers can make their own informed plans.

Still Here does not provide medical, emergency, legal, or caregiving advice. We encourage readers to use local emergency services and qualified professionals when they need urgent or specialized help. Our articles are designed to support preparation and conversation, not replace those services.

Editorial and Corrections Policy

We aim to publish original, useful material rather than generic safety checklists. Before publishing, we check that a page has a clear purpose, actionable context, and accurate links. Readers can report errors, request clarification, or suggest a topic through our contact page. We review credible correction requests and update published material when needed.
