How It Works
What is Still Here and how does it work?
Still Here offers check-in planning guides and an email check-in service under operational verification. An email response records that a link was used; it does not establish that a person is safe. Do not rely on automated reminders or contact alerts until delivery and your complete setup have been confirmed. Arrange a separate check-in directly with someone you trust.
What happens if I forget to respond?
A missed response can mean a delayed email, lost connection, changed plans, or a need for help. Our automated escalation path has not completed end-to-end verification. We do not promise reminders at 15 minutes or one hour, or an alert within three hours. Agree a direct-contact plan with your chosen person. If there is reason to suspect immediate danger, contact local emergency services without waiting for a check-in window.
What if I'm going on vacation, camping, or off-grid?
Tell your contacts directly when you will be unavailable and when you expect to reconnect. The service includes a pause setting, but scheduled vacation dates, automatic resumption and notifications to contacts are not verified features. Confirm any change through a direct conversation and use a separate plan while offline.
Can I change my check-in frequency?
The current service implementation accepts daily, twice-daily and weekly settings. That is not the same as arbitrary weekdays or every-other-day scheduling. Local-time handling and delivery must be verified before relying on a schedule. Our planning guides describe arrangements you can make directly with a friend; those examples are not a list of implemented account features.
Emergency Contacts
How do my emergency contacts know what to do?
Explain the role before adding anyone. The service includes an email consent invitation, but accepting an invitation does not prove that later notifications arrive or that someone is available. Agree who calls whom, how to handle absence, and when to seek urgent help. Never assume an alert is an emergency response service.
Do my emergency contacts need to install anything?
No. Emergency contacts receive notifications via email. They don't need an account, an app, or any special software. Just an email address.
What happens if my emergency contact is unreachable?
We cannot guarantee a person reads or responds to an email. Do not assume the system waits for an acknowledgement, retries until someone answers, or arranges help. Choose a willing backup through a direct conversation and write down the actions each person has agreed to take.
Can my emergency contact opt out?
A contact can ask the account holder to remove their details, or send a removal request to privacy [at] soimok [dot] com. The current invitation is an acceptance link; we do not claim that every message includes a working self-service opt-out. Do not add someone who has declined.
Privacy & Security
How is my data protected?
The service uses emailed access links rather than passwords. Treat an access link as a secret: anyone holding it may gain account access while it is valid. Infrastructure and email providers process service data. We do not claim a security certification, guaranteed protection, or a verified dashboard export/deletion feature. See the Privacy and Security pages for scope and request contacts.
Is Still Here a replacement for 911 or medical alert systems?
No. Still Here is a convenience and peace-of-mind service —a digital "neighbor checking in." We do not contact emergency services. If you're in immediate danger, always call 911 (US), 999 (UK), or 112 (EU). Think of us as the person who notices you haven't picked up your newspaper —not an ambulance.
Do you share my data with third parties?
Yes, service delivery involves providers: Cloudflare for hosting and database infrastructure, MailChannels in the email implementation, and Dodo Payments for checkout. Website fonts may also be fetched from Google Fonts. These providers may process the information needed for their functions. Google advertising is currently paused. See the Privacy Policy for details.

What payment methods do you accept?

International & Accessibility
Can I use Still Here outside the United States?
The public guides are available online. An email address alone does not establish service availability, correct local scheduling or delivery in your country. Do not rely on a local-time promise until your setup is verified. Use your own location's emergency services for urgent help.
Does Still Here work on my phone?
Still Here works through email, so it works on any device that can receive email —no app required. The check-in confirmation link works on any browser. For the best experience, we recommend whitelisting our sender address so check-ins don't go to spam.
